Practicing Remaining Even-Keeled

  • Look over the list of possible “battles” that you face each day and choose wisely. For those battles that you do choose to enter, arm yourself with courage, strength, patience, compassion, and respect.

  • When faced with confrontation, take a few deep breaths to allow your thinking to catch up with your feelings.

  • Think of the most even-keeled person in your life, and reflect on his or her strength and discipline. Practice some form of discipline as a way of incorporating this inner strength and patience into your own being.
